Los Angeles to New York on a Single Tank

I just read some very interesting information about Zero Pollution Motors, and how they are planning to have a compressed-air hybrid ready for the US market in 2009 or 2010. It still will need to complete its safety testing for the United States, but a lot of things to like about it.

The car can offer up to an equivalent of 106 miles per gallon, be filled with compressed air from a station in three minutes, or can be plugged in at home and on the on-board compressor will fill the air tanks within four hours. The compressed air tanks are made out of carbon fiber so in an accident they would just split rather than explode, and the majority of the car structure is made out of aluminum to reduce weight significantly. They expect price of the vehicles to range from $15,000 to $25,000.
