It Takes a Dictionary

Two videos have surfaced showcasing the level of control being exerted by Denver police to ensure protesters and the media follow their orders.  First, an ABC News producer, Asa Eslocker, had been investigating the role of lobbyists and top donors at the Democratic National Convention.  He and a camera man were attempting to take pictures on a public sidewalk at the Brown Palace Hotel.  The hotel was hosting a meeting of Democratic senators and VIP donors.

My heart is with the grassroots and I am so excited about the new wave in the political world where we do not build giant bureaucracies, but rather work together to inform and mobilize public opinion. This is the new wave of politics and you are a real part of it on Freeople.  Our own R3PUBLICAN, Kaye Beach is one of the key players in the Constitutional Alliance. 

This past week the McLaughlin Group on PBS discussed the conflict between Georgia and Russia.  Most telling was how each of the commentators clearly noted the situation was started by Georgia, not Russia.  Mainstream media broadcasts have been regularly stating just the opposite.  The one commentator not following this thinking was Monica Crowley, of who Don Imus once said, "do you have an I.V. drip steadily pumping that neocon Kool-Aid into you? You sound like a crazy person."

I want to share something personal and shocking with you, which I think summarizes the greatest threat to America.

I'm a fairly recent Ron Paul supporter of this year, being converted from a daily Sean Hannity listening, "Great American," who was begrudgingly supporting John McCain in order to stop Barack Obama - the only thing I really respected about McCain is his military service and sacrifices, but I had always voted for the leading Republican by default.

Fox kicked off their coverage of the Democratic National Convention this morning with Fox & Friends broadcasting live from a bar in Denver, Colorado. The majority of the time was spent flirtatiously interviewing Denver Broncos cheerleaders, followed by local Denver Hooters restaurant waitresses, followed again by more cheerleaders:

Cramer calls out what he regarded to be fraudulent destruction of Freddy and Fannie, shameful actions of the FED, SEC, Treasury, and Whitehouse; the damage being done to market capitalism; and directly implies that our economy is being illegally manipulated by insiders.

These two articles sure makes it seem like they are not very concerned about the proported safety aspect once they realize the $$ isn't there.

"The American way of life is not negotiable" is a quote from President George H. W. Bush in 1992. Andrew J. Bacevich uses this statement as a backdrop for what he considers to be the American "empire of consumerism", as noted in his new book, "The Limits of American Power: The End of American Exceptionalism". Mr. Bacevich is a West Point graduate, former US Army Colonel, 23-year veteran who served in Vietnam, and currently an international relations expert at Boston University.

I saw this the other day and thought it was such a great idea!  Do you get a lot of junk mail in your mail box?  You know the kind that has the prepaid postage envelopes to make it oh so convient for you to reply.  I swear I get a swath of paper that probably could add up to be a whole forest in my lifetime.  It really is such a shame, poor trees!  At any rate, if everyone would do this it would put those junk mailer’s out of business or at least make them think twice.  I know I’m going to do it just to test it out and see if it really works!

US teenager's parents sue school over depression screening test

The parents of an Indiana teenager have filed a suit in a federal court in the state's Northern District, charging that school officials violated their privacy rights and parental rights by subjecting their daughter to a mental health screening examination without their permission.

IACP Supports Gun Show Background

Check Act of 2008

The IACP recently announced support for S. 2577, the Gun Show Background Check Act of 2008, introduced by Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ) and Jack Reed (D-RI).

We have a run-off for county sheriff in progress so naturally I have done some investigating of the candidates. One of them has a long history in law enforcement and IACP (International Association of Chiefs of Police) membership. I would like to share with you some information regarding the IACP that I have found disturbing.

#1. Disturbing Fact. They accept funding from pro-gun control institutions like The Joyce Foundation. I will post more interesting facts in subsequent entries but, first things first.
